SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER

Mary Ellen has been working in senior living in activities since 1999. She became a Certified Activity Director in 2001. Her primary focus has been seniors with dementia.  After learning about the World Laughter Tour (WLT) and being a Certified Laughter Leader (CLL) at a support group at the Alzheimer’s Associator, she knew it was something she wanted to learn more about.  In 2003, she become a CLL, later the WLT decided they were more appropriately titled Joyologist! She conducts weekly joy sessions with her seniors at the retirement community where she works. As a member of the bereavement team at her church she talks about how to find joy through grief. Mary Ellen is the youngest of 11 children, a wife of 23 years to Joe, mother of 17 years to Carleigh and puppy mom to Marcel.
